Miskinis Nets Career-high in Loss to Philadelphia

JOHNSTOWN - Junior Gabe Miskinis (Lewistown/Lewistown) scored a career-high 26 points but it wasn't enough as the Bloomsburg University women's basketball team lost to Philadelphia University 76-65 in the consolation game of the Mountain Cat Women's Basketball Tournament.
The Huskies jumped out to an early lead and went up by nine points at the seven minute mark, but Philadelphia battled back to cut Bloomsburg's lead to two points at the half.
Bloomsburg started off the second half strong increasing the lead to five on a three-point play by Miskinis. However, Philadelphia went ahead with 14 minutes to play and Bloomsburg never regained the lead, with the final score 76-65.
To go with her 26 points, Miskinis added a career-high 12 rebounds. Bloomsburg (3-7) also got strong performances from Jamie Kauczka (Kingston/Wyoming Valley West) with 12 points and Laura Lyons (Hatfield/Pennridge) who netted 12 in the loss.
Philadelphia (5-3) was led in scoring by Nicole Mechell with 19 points, while Meg Abele, Ashley Webster, and Megan Zoltek all added 17 points.
The Huskies are idle until January 7 when they take on California (Pa.) at home at 1:00 p.m.
